$250 billion worth of projects in Saudi yet to be awarded

A pipeline of more than $250 billion worth of projects under development in Saudi Arabia, according to data released by a new industry report.

Projects yet to be awarded in the Kingdom accounts for 39% of the total value in the GCC indicate the “Saudi Arabia 2017: Delivering Vision 2030” report by MEED says.

The kingdom’s energy sector has the biggest pipeline of project contracts yet to be awarded, with $82 billion worth of projects accounting for about 33% of the national total. The construction sector is the second biggest segment at 29% and the transport sector is third at 27%.

Together, they account for about $225 billion of unplaced contracts, almost 89% of the total value of contracts in the kingdom that are at the pre-execution stage.
