The projects include the construction of a new bridge connecting two major highways - the Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway and the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Highway, the Bahrain News Agency has reported.The bridge is expected to be ready by Q4 this year.
Another project is the implementation of Phase 2 of the Jasra Interchange Project, which will ease traffic for those heading from the capital city Manama to Janabiya, Budaiya and other towns and villages.
Tenders will soon float for a long-term care centre for chronic diseases, which is part of a medical centres’ complex, built on the land of the Muharraq Maternity Hospital. Construction on the BD13.87mn ($37mn) facility, funded by the Saudi Fund for Development, will start in March 2018.
Revamp an old market in Muharraq and to revamp the old market in the same district by building a number of traditionally-designed commercial shops with integrated services. Work will start on August 1 and planned for completion by December 2018.
The orders were put in place during a meeting between HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister, Essam bin Abdulla Khalifa.
